{Status Closed}-Vacancy Announcement: Panel is Seeking Applications for a Senior Environmental Specialist

The World Bank Inspection Panel is looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have expertise in environmental management, the application of environmental and social safeguards policies/standards of major international financial institutions and  experience as an environmental/social program leader.  As a Senior Environmental Specialist, the successful candidate will be responsible assessing complaints in relation to the Bank’s applications of its environmental and social and standards and conducting compliance investigative work in relation to Requests for Inspection or complaints from project-affected persons. This is a crucial role whose results can contribute to positive change in international development efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a deep experience and understanding of environmental assessment processes  and mitigation measures as well as extensive project management experience with the ability to work as a Task Team Leader. Additionally, the candidate should have experience working with the World Bank, IFC, or other international development institutions, multinational or international consulting agencies and direct experience in the interpretation and application of environmental and social standards.
