Panel Welcomes Summer 2019 Interns

Summer Interns

The Inspection Panel this month welcomed its interns for the summer of 2019: Claire Weisner, Miranda McDermott and Akshayaa Chittibabu.

Claire is a rising senior at Arcadia University, where she is majoring in international studies with a minor in Spanish. She has studied abroad in South Africa, Cuba, Chile and the United Kingdom. Her studies at City, University of London focused on the “Politics of Forced Displacement, Human Rights & Reconciliation after Conflict, and Britain & the EU.”

Miranda is preparing for her senior year at Brown University, where she studies international relations with a focus on political economy and China. During the summer of 2018, she interned with Capital Markets Argentina, where she researched current macroeconomic themes pertinent to the Argentine currency crisis, and with Amnesty International, where, as a volunteer, she researched human rights issues in Argentina.

Akshayaa, a Truman Scholar, recently graduated from the University of Connecticut, where she studied health, policy & social medicine and sociology with a concentration in global health. She will resume her work in global health this fall at the University of Oxford, where she will be studying for a Master of Science degree in sociology as a Marshall Scholar.

They will be assisting the Panel with research and other casework through August.
