Panel Welcomes Kojo Ano Bedu-Addo as its Newest Team Member
The World Bank Inspection Panel is pleased to welcome Kojo Ano Bedu-Addo as a Senior Social Development Specialist. Kojo joined the Panel early this month and brings with him over 20 years of extensive experience in social and environmental risk management across various industries and countries.
Kojo has a distinguished career in Social and Environmental risk management, working at operational, tactical, and strategic levels in the extractive industries; He worked for BG Group, Newmont Mining and TotalEnergies. His expertise includes managing projects and operations in multiple countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Ghana, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Uganda, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo amongst others. Kojo comes with a practical experience in impact assessment, deployment of environmental and social management systems, due diligence and compliance in Social and Environmental matters. He is a subject matter expert in Resettlement, Cultural heritage, Human rights, and Community development and well-versed in international best practices such as the World Bank Social Safeguards, the IFC Performance Standards, and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Human Rights.
Before his career in Social and Environmental risk management, Kojo worked as a Broadcast Journalist with the BBC World Service and as a Political Risks consultant at Control Risks Group in London. He holds an undergraduate degree in English and Arabic from the University of Ghana and postgraduate degrees from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and the Fletcher School in Boston. Additionally, he has participated in executive courses at the SAID Business School, Thunderbird Management School, and Columbia Center for Sustainable Investment.
