Inspection Panel Registers Request for Inspection of Cameroon Hydropower Project

​The Inspection Panel on December 22, 2017, issued a Notice of Registration for a Request for Inspection of the Lom Pangar Hydropower Project in Cameroon. The development objective of the project is “to increase hydropower generation capacity and reduce seasonal variability of water flow in the Sanaga River and to increase access to electricity.” The Panel received a Request for Inspection on December 1, 2017, from two former workers of the project who allege indecent working conditions and accommodations for workers, issues with the payment of overtime work and allowances, and health and safety concerns.
