Kojo Ano Bedu-Addo
Kojo Bedu-Addo's career in Social and Environmental risks management spans over 20 years working at the operational, tactical and strategic levels of various extractive industries. Kojo worked with BG Group in Nigeria during a joint venture project with Shell, Chevron and NNPC, He’s also worked in the Mining industry with Newmont Mining in Ghana and Suriname and recently with TotalEnergies at their headquarters in Paris. His career has seen him manage projects in various countries, such as the United States, Ghana, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire, Uganda, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo to mention a few. He has practical experience in Impact Assessment, deployment of E&S management systems, subject matter expert in Resettlement, Cultural Heritage, Human Rights and other areas in Community Development and Stakeholder Management. He’s managed due diligence and compliance reviews for various projects in his career and has practical experience in the operational deployment of international best practices such as the World Bank Social Safeguards, the IFC performance Standards and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Human Rights. Kojo’s initial career was as Broadcast Journalist with the BBC World Service and also as a Political Risks Consultant at Control Risks Group both in London. He’s an undergraduate from the University of Ghana where he studied English and Arabic and has post graduate degrees from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and the Fletcher School in Boston. In addition, he has participated in Executive courses at the SAID Business School , Thunderbird Management School and Columbia Center for Sustainable Investment.
